In Southern Florida, police conducted sting operations that resulted in the arrest of of almost two dozen individuals related to a retail theft operation.
Prosecutors in Miami paraded the mugshots of numerous suspects related to the investigation. The targeted individuals are suspected to stealing millions of dollars in goods and merchandise. Authorities indicated there are other suspects still not in custody.
The organized theft ring covered the entire state of Florida. The police described an operation that involved theft from pharmacies and the group would get paid approximately $1000 per day for the stolen goods.
Authorities cited the cost to the public saying that as the thefts increased, the prices of these goods would go up.
