People v. RB (DuPage, Illinois)
In Summer of 2024, The Law Office of Purav Bhatt was retained by a client was charged with battery for a dispute that arose in a public space. Completely unaware of the criminal justice system because it was the man’s first encounter with law enforcement, the attorneys at The Law Office of Purav Bhatt were hired to help him navigate the criminal charge.
At the first court appearance in August 2024, attorney Anthony Villalobos was able to speak with a police officer and the prosecutor, explaining the overall circumstance and how it was a simple misunderstanding, not a crime. From there, Anthony Villalobos and his client appeared before the Judge for Anthony Villalobos to explain the situation, with the Judge then completely dismissing the case, so the client was free to walk out of the courthouse that day with his battery charge completely dismissed.
