PEOPLE V. D.S.

D.S. was accused of multiple sex offenses by a relative. D.S. was arrested, charged and numerous conditions placed on him including not being able to return to his home. D.S. denied all accusations against him. Attorney Bhatt, through his investigation, determined that the alleged offenses occurred well over a decade before D.S.’s arrest when both parties were minors.
As a result of these facts attorney Bhatt successfully argued that the statute of limitations had run for the state to charge D.S. and that both individuals were minors and juveniles at the time of the offense and therefore could not be charged in adult court. As a result of attorney Bhatt’s efforts all charges against D.S. were dismissed.
